Holly Faccio
I am the middle school social
studies and reading teacher. I also serve as the Student Council and yearbook adviser. I have been at Pearce Elementary School for 17 years. I am highly qualified in social studies and language arts. I am currently working on my Master's degree in literacy. I am happily married with two beautiful daughters, and my favorite thing to do outside of school and family is to go water skiing!
I have taught 4th -8th grade as well as special education; however, I feel that the social studies classroom is where I belong. Middle school students are filled with questions about the past, and I love to bring
the past to life for them. If you visit my class you may see students performing reader's theater in silly costumes, engaging in creative writing, debating topics, learning geography, discussing current events and politics, cooking, and of course, READING!!!!
My mission is to inspire students to THINK. I want them to be well-informed citizens who will, one day, contribute something meaningful to our society. I want them to be leaders who are willing to stand up for what they believe in and for what is right. I believe that history education is extremely important because by studying the past and the mistakes and triumphs of those who came before us, we can become empowered to create a better future.
