Hello!  My name is Susan Hamilton and I am the First Grade Teacher and Reading Intervention Teacher for Pearce Elementary School.  This is my 18th year teaching and 16th year at Pearce Elementary School.  I have been teaching in first grade for 15 years!

I have a masters degree plus 36 additional credits.  I have taken a lot of classes in reading and I am a qualified reading specialist.

My husband's name is Richard and I have a son and a married daughter.  I also have a grandson and granddaughter, who I love to spend time with.  My favorite hobbies are reading, quilting, sewing, crocheting and riding my quad when I am able to!

I love teaching and I love finding new ways to help my students grow.  I am often reading books on intervention strategies as well as attending classes to learn new ways to help students succeed.  My class is filled with exciting new ideas and I have been known to put on a play a time or two!  I look forward to working with you and your child and seeing you in my classroom!
